This match paired against us an “Old" Marsh Rangers F.C. Player in
“T O D D Y". ....... remember him from our successful earlier days ?
Matthew Fletcher was good then, and is still good now. Today Miles Wiggins was marking him, and although Toddy put in a good performance Miles was just a little better. (It was Miles Wiggins 23rd Birthday TODAY, Toddy had seen his 23rd some time ago !!!!!).
The “Postmen “ took the lead after around 15 minutes, after an opening display from both sides. Marsh did not seem troubled by this, and today led by Craig Drew raised their game a little. After 30 minutes TOMMY EDWARDS equalised after a long run down the wing. Then a corner from Jack Bigwood was superbly headed home by PHIL TUBB to put Marsh ahead.
In the second half, Marsh gained even more control, although LPOSSA never gave in. Yet another corner by Jack Bigwood was headed home by TOM VEAL to put Marsh way out in front. Rhys Price took over in the second half, and Marsh continued to push forward. Alex Henderson, as usual, dominated the right wing, and Steven Cloherty filled in well in defence. JACK BIGWOOD, fed up with setting up goals for others, scored a 4th for Marsh from close in and the match was well & truly over. Marsh Rangers F.C. did not play anywhere near their best, but were nearly always in control.
The next round of this M.C.F.L.Senior Open Cup is on the 21st. November away to Kentish Town.
