Vallance F.C. are a useful young footballing side who, at the moment, cannot last 90 minutes but in time will become a very good side indeed. In a way they are a credit to the League for the way they play, and have stuck to their beliefs. They attacked Marsh from the off and scored after only 3 minutes with a long shot that beat Marsh keeper Adam Casey’s outstretched body. Not really a shock as Vallance are a decent side but not, as already stated over the full time. Marsh then picked themselves up and their back 4 and keeper hardly made an error for the rest of the match. Captain Craig Drew, and vice captain Miles Wiggins led the Team well as Marsh grew in stature as the match progressed. Attack after attack by Marsh nearly, but only nearly, equalised but the Valance keeper kept out Bradley Hand & Mat Monhon. Steven Cloherty, Daniel Lobjoit, Tommy Edwards, & Paul Nolan all worked hard in midfield, and along with the back four of Miles Wiggins, Craig Drew, Phil Tubb & Spencer Brown won the first half on points if not goals. Vallance played their part well but were always second to Marsh other than the goal !!! On the 25 minute another excellent passing display by Marsh ended with Spencer Brown stunning shot parried by the keeper and TOMMY EDWARDS blasting in the equaliser from just inside the area. Somehow it stayed this way until half time.
The second half saw Alex Henderson introduced early on, which added more pressure on Vallance. Thomas Veal was also added to the side as Marsh continued to breakdown the Vallance side. PHIL TUBB added number 2, after a goal mouth flurry, and soon after coming on the pitch JACK BIGWOOD added a very good 3rd. If time had progressed a number of other chances would certainly have come Marsh Rangers way but the final whistle blew. The officials allowed the match to flow, and the Referee handled the game well. Marsh were worthy winners, but keep an eye on Vallance in the future.
