Evening games can, and are, so unpredictable just like this one. Flying High Marsh took on Mid Table Southall and found themselves 0 – 3 down with 20 minutes to go.
At least two of the goals Marsh would normally have expected to save ...... but not tonight .
Only 1 down at half time but soon 3 down in the second half. Manager, Dave Campbell needed to make drastic changes and did just that by going to only 3 at the back, despite reluctance from the defenders. Slowly but surely Marsh worked their way back into this Match. Firstly, a screamer from PHIL TUBB just inside the Southall half blasted past the Southall Keeper to give Marsh a little hope, and some respectability. Next, substitute TOM VEAL scored a Marsh second and a little later Marsh levelled the scores. Again PHIL TUBB emerged as the scorer.(this made his hat trick but unfortunately one was in the wrong end). Marsh had made a number of chances for themselves with Steve Cloherty & Rhys Price both coming close to tucking the ball away. Alex Henderson & Tommy Edwards both strove to keep Marsh on the front foot, and in the end they were even a little disappointed at only the 1 point not all 3.
