Well , what can be said about this match. Lots happened. It would have been the main match on BBC, even ahead of Manchester United v Arsenal !!!!!
Inside 35 seconds, Marsh should have taken the lead. The ball bounced over the Kensington keeper and fell nicely for Alex Henderson who then whipped it OVER the bar of the completely unguarded net !!!!! Normally he would put these away without even having to think about it ..... but not today. Oh Well !!
With further glaring errors, along with the odd good save, North Kensington somehow defended their goal and even had the cheek to score TWO goals against the run of play. Worse was to come !!!!! Just on half time, Marsh were on the attack still and out wide rode a series of fouls but still managed to work the ball into the box. Yet another foul was committed and the Referee, well placed, had no hesitation in awarding a Penalty. Before this was able to be taken the Referee had his attention drawn to a NOW waving linesman. The assessor, although heard to do so & denied it later, had denied Marsh a penalty from OFF the FIELD by advising the linesman of a previous offside.
Manager & Chief Coach, Dave Campbell & Tony Heath, made a few changes in the second half and. Marsh continued to attack. Although not their best match Marsh seemed very sluggish they had by far the better chances in both halves. Marsh were denied another clear Penalty before on 66 minutes ALEX HENDERSON showed what he can really do, and blasted the ball wide of the diving keeper to put Marsh only one behind. Within a minute, a free kick to Marsh allowed BRADLEY GRANT to force the kick home an equaliser.
Marsh continued to attack , leaving gaps at the back which Craig Drew held together well. The defence was not up to its usual high standard, but not too bad. The midfield seemed missing at times and the forwards could not find the net often enough. All being said, Marsh did not deserve a defeat and the draw was the least they deserved. Marsh are still in the top 4 of the League with a gap opening up underneath them.
Not a good day for Marsh but the fight back at least earned a draw .
